Beforehand
knowing our "love" for impersonators this book didnt
make our hearts beat faster. But as always, we give anything
a chance, we decided to do our work and review this comic
novel about an impersonator, written by Rich Koslowski (ISBN 1-891830-61-1).
Well, it was harder than we thought. In over one month one
of our reviewers the one that hardly reads anything else
than comics wasnt able to beat more than 18 pages.

Fact Odyssey - The Early Years (Jim
Curtin / Renata Ginter)
In1999 this
book was released, as the first of a series. In the
introduction the author states that You will not find
another compilation of Elvis facts that is more accurate,
in-depth, or interesting than this book. Lets find out if
thats true. But first a small word on the design. The book
is delivered on good paper, and in a very clean print. As
you can see the cover is plain, with a classic picture, very
tasteful.

The
King and I - Bernard Lansky
'He
always called me Mister Lansky'. The unmistakable Southern
accent echoes through the clothing store in the lobby of the
regal Peabody Hotel at 149 Union Avenue, Memphis. 'I told
him, 'Call me Bernard.' But Elvis always said, 'Thank you,
Mister Lansky'. He was brought up right. His mother brought
him up a gentleman'.

and visual exploration of the time Elvis spent in the German
city.

Andreas has uncovered numerous little known aspects of
Elvis' visit to the German city.

familiar with Elvis' well chronicled visits to the Moulin
Rouge, how many of us were aware of his visit to the Eve Bar
on Karolinenplatz, just a few steps away from the "Amerika-Haus"?
Not only does Andreas Roth give us illuminating text on this
visit but he has sourced a sublime collection of photos from

Elvis at
21: New York to Memphis
featuring Alfred Wertheimer's
seminal Elvis photos from 1956
will be released during October,
2006.
For a peek inside the book-
twenty-one-year-old Elvis
Presley was at the beginning of
his remarkable and unparalleled
career and photographer Alfred
Wertheimer was asked by
Presleys new label, RCA Victor,
to photograph the rising star.
With unimpeded access to the
young performer, Wertheimer was
able to capture the unguarded
and everyday moments in Elvis'
life during that crucial year, a
year that took him from Tupelo,
Mississippi to the silver
screen, and to the verge of
international stardom and his
crowning as "The King of Rock
'n' Roll. As Alfred Wertheimer
photographed Elvis during 1956,
and again in 1958, he created
classic images that are
spontaneous, unrehearsed and
completely without artifice.
