Famed guitarist James Burton
was slightly injured
yesterday in a wreck in
Shreveport. Burton, 68, was
driving on Murphy Street
when another driver hit his
truck at the intersection at
Pete Harris Drive. Both
drivers said they had the
green light, police said.
Burton and the other driver
both were taken to the
hospital for treatment of
minor injuries. Burton, who
has been inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,
has played with some of the
biggest stars in music.
Among them: Elvis Presley,
Ricky Nelson, Emmylou Harris
and Roy Orbison.
Update October 25, 2007:
We received good news from
Shreveport, Louisiana; James
Burton is doing fine. His
wife Louise emailed and said
that we did not have to
worry about James: he's OK.
His recording and concert
schedule remains intact.
