Trainer "All Shook Up" in Elvis Dog Row

AS long as dogs run in Shelbourne Park, Elvis will be alive. But the man who keeps Elvis on track is fighting to keep impersonators of the King out of the kennels.

The Donoghues, of Lucan, Dublin, have guarded the Elvis dog title for 20 years. But a pretender, My Elvis, appears to have the law on his side. The Irish Coursing Club, which registers greyhounds said the registration only applies to a dog's prefix.
This means that only the Donoghue family can use Elvis as the first name of a dog, but anyone can use it in the second part of a dog's name.

It's as much as Peter O'Donoghue can take. But even if his Elvis's name is changed, Peter has decided to quit, his eight dogs are up for sale.
