we are playing every Elvis single that featured in the
American charts, we are basing it on Billboard�s Hot 100
chart which is the definitive chart for popular music in the
US, and what we propose doing is to play every single
that Elvis released that featured on this chart, now when I
tell you that Elvis had a record one hundred and twenty
eight songs that featured you will appreciate what a massive
undertaking this is, now to make it even more interesting we
are doing it in reverse order basing our chart on the
highest position that a particular recording reached, and
the amount of weeks it spent in the charts, In the
countdown we are going to feature 10 tracks every week
starting with number 115.
The next ten songs on the chart 33-29 were featured on the
show on Sunday 9th. April
(29) I Beg Of You
Recorded by
Elvis in 1957, I Beg Of You was written by Rose Marie McCoy
and Kelly Owens, it reached number 8 in Billboards Hot 100
chart. We also played this for Gerry O�Neill in Coolock.
(29) I Got Stung
Released
on the
B side of One Night , I Got Stung
reached number 8 in the USA. Released in 1958, it sold
nearly three million copies.
(jt-28) Don�t Cry Daddy
The
Mac Davis song�s Don�t Cry
Daddy, was released in 1970 reaching number 6 in the US.
Elvis� Daughter Lisa Marie also sang the song live on stage
with her father on a giant video screen in Memphis at the 25th.

(jt-28) Love Me
Jerry Leiber
and Mike Stoller wrote Love Me in 1954 as a spoof of Country
music. They claimed it was the worse song they ever wrote,
but when Elvis released it as a single in 1956 it sold over
a million records reaching number 6 in the charts with a 19
week stay.
(27) I Feel So Bad
I Feel So Bad, which amongst others was recorded by Ray
Charles, although reaching the number 5 spot in the US
charts it is one of those Elvis tracks that is seldom heard,
it was recorded in 1961 and appeared on the Something For
Everybody album. We played it especially for Mark Thompson.
(26) She�s Not You
Recorded March
19th. 1962 at RCAs Nashville Studios , written by
the famous song writing team of Jerry Leiber and Mike
Stoller, reached number 5 in the US.
(25) Little Sister
Doc Pomus
and Mort Shuman wrote Little Sister for Elvis who recorded
it on June 26th. 1961. It spent a total of 13
weeks in the US charts reaching number 5. Unusually a few
months after Little sister was released La Vern Baker
recorded �Hey Memphis� which used the same music and was
also written by Pomus and Shuman
(JT-24) His Latest Flame
Recorded in
1961 by both Elvis and Del Shannon, it was Elvis� version
that charted reaching number 4 in the US chart, the song is
probably better known as Marie�s The Name Of His Latest
Flame. In the 1981 documentary film �This Is Elvis� it was
the song used to open the film.
(JT-24) I Need Your Love Tonight
I Need Your
Love tonight, written by Sid Wayne and Bix Reichner and
recorded by Elvis in 1958 at RCAs Nashville Studios, it
reached number 4 in the US selling over two million copies.
(23) One Night
Written by Dave
Bartholomew and Pear King and originally recorded and
released as a single by Smiley Lewis called One Night Of
Sin. When Elvis recorded it on February 23rd.
1957 as One Night Of Sin, the song had to be re-recorded as
One Night as most of the radio stations in the US would not
play the original version. Reached number 4.
(22) Devil In Disguise
Devil in
Disguise also know as You�re The Devin in Disguise was
recorded on May 26th. 1963 at RCAs Nashville
studios, written by Bill Giant, Bernie Baum and Florence
Kaye, the single release reached number 3 in the US charts
staying there for 11 weeks
